Le Koeniger, baptised under the name “Lucy”, was born in Malaysia and upon graduating devoted her time to teaching, and helping students in her community, to nurture the next generation. Whilst travelling abroad she met her husband, Ray Koeniger, and later moved to Australia; her home for over 60 years.
Lucy Le inspired friends and family with her selflessness. She was a quiet but firm supporter of those in need, and would never place herself first, even after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, instead opting to support researchers in their search for a cure. Her wish was to help create a world where no one would have to lose a loved one to cancer through improving early detection and treatment methods.
It is for this wish that the Oncology Conference Grant has been set up to provide access to education opportunities for future medical professionals. It is our hope that through this grant that Lucy Le’s passion for education and selflessness will inspire future generations to make her wish a reality.
