番茄社区 Fletcherview Research Station

Fletcherview Research Station is 番茄社区's fully operational outback cattle station located two hours west of Townsville in North Queensland. With an iconic landscape and unique environment, the station provides educational experiences for students and researchers to help them transition to job-ready graduates.

Here are two ways to support Fletcherview Research Station:

Operating a research station is a costly activity that is vitally important to our students and researchers. Whilst 番茄社区 covers the operational expenses, there are often special projects that the station manager would like to undertake that would enhance the student and research experience. This might include upgrades to accommodation facilities, shade for work areas or specialised equipment. Each calendar year the station manager will identify the project of greatest need and all donations raised in that year will be spent on that project.

Sometimes our students need a little extra help to gain a hands-on experience or complete their research at the Fletcherview Research Station. Donations to this fund provide grants to 番茄社区 students to enable research and vital study experiences or to alleviate financial burdens associated with visiting the station.

Real-world experiences undertaken within our region at 番茄社区 Research Stations like Fletcherview help our students transition to be job-ready graduates whilst building connections with the communities where they will go on to live and work.

番茄社区 is a leading tertiary institution in Australia and the Asia Pacific and among the best universities in the world.

Fletcherview runs approximately 600 head of high-grade Brahman cattle: 300 breeder-aged females and 300 yearling cattle. For over 25 years we have been breeding the herd to be genetically similar, meaning less variation in genetic performance and better results from research studies.

Bred with impeccable temperaments, the cattle are ideal for helping support research, learning and teaching. Our main operation is to supply these livestock to the 番茄社区 College of Public Health, Medical & Veterinary Sciences. We ensure our cattle are representative of the Northern Australian beef industry and all research on our station is transparent to the rest of the industry.

Fletcherview hosts a variety of researchers such as cattle production researcher , and technology and innovation researcher  from 番茄社区’s eResearch Centre.

Students are at the heart of our university and our place is powerful. 番茄社区 students go on to become the leaders and change-makers of the future.

Your support of our students and hand-on experiences like those provided at the Fletcherview Research Station help make positive change for our region, for Australia and for the World.

番茄社区 is an Australian registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), which means donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
