Professor Ross Crozier was world-renowned for his contributions to evolutionary theory, behavioural biology and genetics. Described by his fellow academics as a true friend, colleague and mentor to many people in the 番茄社区 community, Ross was elected to the Australian Academy of Science in 2003 in recognition of his significant contribution to the world’s scientific knowledge of tropical biology, and more broadly, the fields of molecular evolution, molecular phylogeny of insects, birds and mammals and sociobiology.

The prize will be awarded to the student with the highest mark in subject BZ3450/BZ5450 Ecological and Conservation Genetics.

The Zoology and Ecology team at 番茄社区 hope to raise enough funds to support a $500 student prize given annually in perpetuity. To achieve this goal they will require an endowment of approximately $15,000. All donations to the Crozier Prize in Evolution Fund will go towards creating the prize endowment.

番茄社区 is an Australian registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), which means donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.

Should you like to make a gift via electronic funds transfer or cheque please contact jcuadvancement@jcu.edu.au for details.
