Completion of an undergraduate degree in dentistry at this or another University more than two years previously.

Minimum English language proficiency requirements

Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 3bSchedule II of the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Admissions Policy.

Course learning outcomes

On successful completion of Graduate Diploma of Orthodontics, graduates will be able to:

  • Apply the scientific basis of orthodontics,   with particular emphasis on current theories relevant to growth and   development; diagnosis; treatment planning; and, clinical management of   malocclusions.
  • Properly diagnose orthodontic dental   malocclusions and skeletal discrepancies.
  • Formulate a competent treatment plan following   consideration of the underlying aetiological factors and addressing the   patient’s chief complaint.
  • Implement biomechanical methods to treat   orthodontic cases.
  • Provide orthodontic treatment based on evidence-based   dentistry.
  • Critically analyse orthodontic literature and   apply it clinically.
