Gungu Day

The 番茄社区’s Turtle Health Research Centre, the Caraplace, held a public celebration of sea turtles event in October. Activities on Gungu Day included a free tour of the facility, and an opportunity to meet the many different groups and organisations within and outside of 番茄社区 that have cultural and conservation interest in sea turtles and the marine environment.

New centre established to study & save endangered Great Barrier Reef green turtles
Donor funded Townsville based 番茄社区 turtle centre has been established to study and save green Great Barrier Reef turtles. Report by ABC News, 11 August 2016
