2022 Queen's Birthday Honours for 番茄社区 staff, students and alumni

We extend our congratulations to the 番茄社区 staff, students and alumni who have been recognised in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours lists as well as local award recipients. These include:

, Director of Urogynaecology at Townsville University Hospital, Director of Mater Pelvic Health and Research and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at 番茄社区's College of Medicine and Dentistry.

Prof Rane was awarded a Public Service Medal for outstanding public service in women's health in Queensland and is a member of the Townsville Hospital and Health Board.

, rural generalist, medical educator and GP Training Senior Fellow with 番茄社区’s GP training program.

Dr McPhee was appointed Member of the Order (AM) for his work in medicine, tertiary education and health administration.

For over three decades, Dr McPhee has worked to improve the health of rural communities and equip students and registrars for rewarding careers in rural medicine. Dr McPhee is a GP obstetrician and Principal GP at Emerald Medical Group, a charitable organisation providing medical and health-related services to the community in and around Emerald.

He shares his wealth of knowledge and experience with GPs in training through his role as a medical educator and GP Training Senior Fellow with 番茄社区’s GP training program. As a member of the program’s strategic leadership council, Dr McPhee is helping to shape and inform the training of specialist GPs bound for regional, rural, and remote communities.

Dr McPhee has also served as president of the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland, the Rural Doctors Association of Australia and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. He is passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders in rural medicine.

Mr Forrest was recognised for significant service to Australia-Singapore business relations, as he serves as a Singapore-based independent company director focused on the Australia/ASEAN commercial relationship, as well as a Council Member of both the  and .

Mr Forrest said, “I’m thrilled but also humbled by this appointment. I’ve been fortunate to have lived and worked in Singapore for more than three decades, and to have known so many inspiring people and organisations."
