The Australian Tropical Herbarium and the Wet Tropics Management Authority are pleased to present our annual Rainforest Plant Identification Workshop at 番茄社区's Daintree Rainforest Observatory, located at Cape Tribulation.

Targeted at the interested layperson, the three day introductory short course will cover:

  • What is a rainforest?
  • How plants are named.
  • Plant structure and terminology.
  • A walking tour of nearby rainforest, and hands-on learning through identification of local native plants.
  • A review of important rainforest plant families, and the features used to identify them in the field.

Participants in each short course will receive a statement of attendance.

Course participants should arrive at the Daintree Rainforest Observatory at about 5 p.m. on Thursday 5 December. Classes will run from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., commencing Friday 6 December. Morning tea and lunch are included in the price. Course participants will be required to self-cater for remaining meals. The Daintree Rainforest Observatory's facilities include dormitory accommodation and a well-appointed commercial kitchen (/daintree/facilities).
