Minimum English language proficiency requirements

Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 3a – Schedule II of the ·¬ÇÑÉçÇø Admissions Policy.

Students also need to take note that in accordance with the National Registration Board’s requirement, they must hold a valid IELTS (academic module) minimum overall score of 7.5 with a minimum of 7 in each of the four components within 2 years prior to applying for registration upon graduation

requirements

Students will be eligible to be offered a position in the Research Honours major by the Head of Academic Group if they have achieved an average GPA of 5.5 across level 1 and level 2. Students that are not offered a position in the Research Honours major, or that are offered a position in the Research Honours major but decline this offer, will continue in the professional major for levels 3 and 4.

A quota on entry into the Research Honours Major may be applied depending on the availability of supervisors.

Course learning outcomes

On successful completion, graduates of the course will be able to:

• Integrate a coherent and advanced body of professional knowledge, competencies, behaviours, responsibilities and ethics within a health provision model of pharmacy practice that is appropriate in rural, remote, Indigenous and tropical contexts
• Retrieve, synthesise, critically evaluate and apply evidence in pharmacy practice
• Obtain, interpret and evaluate patient and clinical data to assess individual and population health status and, where necessary, formulate, implement and monitor management plans, in consultation with patients and communities
• Promote and optimise the health and welfare of individuals and populations
• Communicate clearly and coherently through well-developed English language and numeracy proficiency, appropriate for entry into the pharmacy workforce
• Deliver and facilitate safe and effective collaborative patient-centred health outcomes, within a clearly defined and accepted scope of pharmacy practice
• Reflect on current skills, knowledge and attitudes to plan ongoing professional development and foster a commitment to lifelong learning
• Apply knowledge of research principles and methods to plan and execute project work and/or a piece of research and scholarship with some independence.
