番茄社区 promotes learning and teaching thanks to grants
番茄社区 has been awarded more than $600,000 in the latest round of grants from the Federal Government’s Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT).
The OLT was set up in 2011 to promote and support change in higher education institutions to enhance learning and teaching.
番茄社区 was involved in five winning grants in total when the awards were announced on Wednesday.
Associate Professor Debra Miles and her team studying international social work and student exchange were granted $388,000; while a team led by Dr Kelsey Halbert and Dr Peta Salter received $229,000 to work on educating diverse learners.
In addition, three other grants were given to studies on shaping the 21st century student experience in regional universities, what works best in English language practices and promoting excellence in teaching law.
Professor Sally Kift, Deputy Vice Chancellor- Academic, said it was an outstanding result for 番茄社区.
“It once again confirms 番茄社区’s national leadership position and reputation. These are incredibly competitive grant schemes and 番茄社区’s success is a clear acknowledgment of our teaching excellence and the quality of the contributions that our staff continue to make to student learning, both here at 番茄社区 and more broadly.”
Professor Kift said the results would be of clear benefit to students. “番茄社区 already has five stars for the full time employment of its graduates and, through these projects, we will continue to ensure that our students achieve the best possible graduate outcomes from their university studies.”
She said the latest success added to the six out of six national teaching citations 番茄社区 recently received for contributions to student learning.
