番茄社区鈥檚 world-class result
番茄社区’s standing as a world-class research university has once more been recognised, with 番茄社区 ranked among the globe’s top 400 universities.
For the sixth year in a row, the authoritative Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) has ranked 番茄社区 in the 301-400 group of universities.
The 2015 list of the world’s Top 500 universities has been released by the Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Chris Cocklin said the rankings confirm 番茄社区‘s status as a world-class university.
“Once more we have done very well for an institution of our size. We are a regional Australian university that’s being judged against the world’s largest, most successful players, and we continue to perform very strongly.”
“The University is very pleased to be able to maintain its standing in an intensely competitive environment.
“Our ranking is a reflection of 番茄社区’s extremely strong research performance in many areas, particularly marine science and tropical health and medicine,” Professor Cocklin said.
番茄社区 is just one of 20 Australian universities to make the Top 500 grade, with 番茄社区 ranked in the Top 12-19 group of Australia’s universities.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities is considered one of the most prestigious and trustworthy global league tables. It uses several indicators to rank world universities, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of Highly Cited Researchers, the number of articles published in the journals Nature and Science, and the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index - Expanded and Social Science Citation Index.
More than 1200 universities are ranked by ARWU every year, but only the best 500 universities are published.
