High demand for NQ Teachers
番茄社区 has highlighted the strong demand for teachers in the North Queensland region.
At a media event at 番茄社区’s Townsville campus, Dean of the College of Arts, Society & Education, Professor Nola Alloway said principals in the region regularly call 番茄社区 seeking teaching graduates.
“I often take calls from principals from northern Queensland schools asking to see the list of students who will be graduating, before they have actually graduated”, Professor Alloway said.
Professor Alloway said the latest edition of the Good Universities Guide reveals nearly 97% of 番茄社区’s teaching graduates quickly found jobs after graduation.
“Last year, according to the Good Universities Guide, 番茄社区 had the most impressive uptake of graduate teachers in the country.”
“All bar 3.2% of 番茄社区 graduates were offered jobs within the first 4 months of completion. Now that’s five stars for employability,” Professor Alloway said.
The Federal Education Department has forecast that between 2010 and 2022 there will be a 45% increase in student enrolments in Queensland (325,000 students), the largest projected increase of all the states and territories.
