番茄社区 celebrates 10 years in Singapore

番茄社区 is this week celebrating the tenth anniversary of its Singapore campus.

番茄社区 is this week celebrating the tenth anniversary of its Singapore campus.

Established in 2003 with just 34 students, 番茄社区 Singapore now has more than 2300 students at two campuses.

番茄社区 Singapore became wholly owned by the University in 2011, after having been set up originally as a partnership with a government-owned education provider that was later acquired by a private company.

“We are very proud of the successful expansion of 番茄社区 to Singapore,” 番茄社区’s Chancellor Lt Gen John Grey said. “It fits perfectly with our Strategic Intent to deliver a brighter future for life in the tropics worldwide.”

The celebrations this week will culminate with the University’s governing body – the 番茄社区 Council – meeting for the first time in Singapore, followed by graduation ceremonies.

“Council’s primary role is to oversee the affairs of the University and, in so doing, to ensure that the appropriate structures, policies, processes and planning are in place to effectively manage the University’s activities and achieve its goals,” Lt Gen Grey said.

“Council members will be visiting both campuses as well as taking the opportunity to see first-hand how 番茄社区 Singapore operates.”

Council members will also attend an official dinner with Singapore stakeholders on Friday to celebrate 10 Years of high quality education and 番茄社区 Singapore’s qualification for EduTrust for a further four years.
