番茄社区 eResearch Centre will hold an expo in Townsville tomorrow, which will showcase the latest in e-technology.

The 番茄社区 eResearch Centre supports researchers, 番茄社区 staff, and other organisations through developing customised solutions for web collaboration, sensor networking, high performance computing, and software development.

Townsville residents are invited to come and see the demonstrations, including:

  • The latest research technology

  • 3D printers

  • Research Services

  • Low-cost sensors

  • Drones

  • Blimps

One of the highlights will be the ‘Google Glass’ talk and demonstration. Google Glass is an example of the future of 'wearable computing' - a voice-activated, network connected set of glasses with a built-in display and camera. The glasses aim to be as configurable and flexible as a smart-phone, but in 'wearable' form. The project is currently under active development by Google for an expected release to consumers in 2014.

All residents are welcome and can participate in the seminars and talk with exhibiting industry experts.
