The upcoming Inspiration on Tap event puts health centre stage. Join Dr. Mohammad Farouq Sharifpour as he spotlights previously undiscovered health benefits of the superfood algae known as Spirulina. Hear from 番茄社区 Lecturer Ruth Nona Renshaw and Griffith University’s Professor Amanda Wheeler about the highlights of the Indigenous Medication Review Service (IMeRSe) project.

The surprising health effects of algae-based medicines

Spirulina is a superfood with a long history. First Nations people in Central America would use these blue-green microalgae as an ingredient to bake healthy cakes that were loaded with proteins, vitamins and minerals. Now, and fellow researchers at the Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine (AITHM) are investigating newly discovered health effects that could turn Spirulina into a platform for innovative health solutions.

Beyond Medication: Nurturing Wellness in Indigenous Communities through partnerships with community pharmacies in the IMeRSe project

Join 番茄社区 Pharmacy Lecturer and as they share highlights of the Indigenous Medication Review Service (IMeRSe) project. Discover how this holistic healthcare initiative strives to reduce medication-related issues while fostering overall health and well-being among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities working together with their community pharmacies.
