Course pre-requisites | Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree that includes studies appropriate for the teaching for which the applicant wishes to prepare; or Other qualifications recognised by the University as equivalent to the above. |

Course learning outcomes | On successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Education (Academic Practice), graduates will be able to: - Appraise institutional and national and international policy in higher education, and identify and enhance implementation of policy in practice, including initiatives to enhance the cultural competence of graduates - Critically analyse and integrate learning theories, models, concepts and research-informed techniques for teaching and learning to support improved outcomes for diverse learners - Evaluate, design and implement curriculum and assessment for contemporary higher educational contexts, including frameworks to develop cultural competence - Evaluate and utilise accessible learning technologies to support active pedagogies that promote student engagement and learning in higher education - Identify and generate practical and research-informed solutions to complex problems in a range of higher education contexts, with responsibility, autonomy, well-developed judgement and adaptability - Communicate complex knowledge and ideas clearly and coherently to a variety of audiences through high-level speaking, reading, writing, listening and advocacy skills - Critically engage with a range of evaluation data sources and tools and professional learning and development opportunities to enhance the quality and scholarship of teaching and learning. |
