Distinguished Professor Terry Hughes FAA retires, drawing to a close over three decades of outstanding service to the University. He leaves an enduring legacy, having positioned 番茄社区 as the world’s leading university in coral reef research.

Since joining 番茄社区 as a Lecturer in 1990, Terry has made many globally significant contributions to coral reef science and has led the advancement of transformative research in the tropics. Terry was the founding Director and driving force behind the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies headquartered at 番茄社区, providing leadership in the development of the world's largest and most outstanding Centre for coral reef research.
